TBR lists are lowkey a setup and I’m ready to say it 😭
As a mood reader, why am I pretending I know what I’m going to want to read two weeks from now?? Be serious.
The video I shared to this post is almost 2 years old and still stands true for me.
As a mood reader, I genuinely don’t know what I’m going to want to read at the end of the month… or even next week. And I definitely don’t know how long it’s going to take me to finish a book depending on how busy or burnt out I am.
Like I just finished Love on the Brain and it was cute, light, exactly the vibe I needed. But earlier this month I thought I was going to read a Myah Ariel book… and I didn’t. Because I wasn’t in the mood for something heavy.
Instead I picked up The Neighbor Favor, restarted Problematic Summer Romance (which has SO many characters btw 😭), I’m reading The Knight & the Moth on Kindle, and listening to like two audiobooks at the same time, Rites of the Starling and Silver Elite.
And you know what… I’m actually enjoying reading.
I feel like we need to free ourselves from strict TBR lists and just read based on what we need in the moment.
Reading is supposed to feel good, not like a checklist.
